Ather Abid (34) is a seasoned performer across Lancashire for the last 10 years playing & coaching in numerous leagues.
Abid has a fantastic reputation in the north of England regularly performing at clubs who require a UK based batsman. In 2009 in his break out season playing for Lostock in the old Manchester & District League Division One, he blitzed a highest score of 233* off 138 balls against Bolton CC. He amassed 912 runs @ 43.43 along with 20 wickets at 30.
Abid then moved to play for Alder CC in Liverpool where he again done very well in 2010 where he struck 850 runs @ 42.50 including helping Alder CC to finish second in the division and get promoted. Abid then played for Birkenhead Park, Tonge & Darcy Lever.
Most recently he has been at Cheshire based side Sandbach CC where he has been for the last 3 seasons. A huge part of their club on and off the field Abid was very much a mentor to the youngsters at Sandbach along with a very good performer on the field. In the 3 years he scored 3175 @ 45.75 including 22 half centuries and 6 hundreds (including one daddy hundred of 153* against Wedgewood).
Abid is based in Manchester and is happy to be involved in the coaching side of the club aswell aslong as the travelling is not major. A proven batsman with a good track record behind him would add a very good option for any club wanting a UK based batsman for 2022.
