Malinda Thotiwilage is a London based player who has been a paid amateur at clubs around Surrey & Kent for the last 7 years.
Malinda started playing in Surrey for Normandy where he scored 950 runs @ 41 including nine half centuries. He then moved onto Beddington then Chipstead where in 4 years he averaged 35 including a highest of 149*. He then came over to play in Kent for Old Wilsonians and Old Elthamians respectively. Most recently he played 13 games for Dartford where he dominated Kent County Division 2, he struck 887 runs @ 126.71, including four centuries and four half centuries.
Malinda has also chipped in with numerous important wickets in his career and has taken 189 wickets @ 19 to date.
In 2021 despite an injury which halted his start to the season, Malinda played for Sussex League club Ifield CC. He hit 425 @ 30.36 including chipping in with 12 wickets @ 24.
Most recently Malinda has been player/coach for Purley CC in Surrey where he has made a huge impact both on and off the field. Malinda has hit over 1100 runs in the 2 seasons @ 40 along with 40 wickets @ 21. Malinda is also a level 2 coach and keen to be involved coaching in the club.
Malinda played in 2024 for Kent County League club Bexleyheath CC, he performed very well scoring over 500 runs @ 34 along with 19 wickets @ 26. Malinda has a brilliant reference off the field helping along youngsters aswell as having big leadership qualities.
Malinda is now looking for a return to a club around the London area in 2025 and would add a quality all rounder option for any club.
